Content Studio: Email Pre-visualization - SAP Marketing Cloud

Dear Colleagues,

I know from other peers' experience that there are email marketing tools with a functionality that shows you the fragment of text that the recipient will see without opening the email. I guess considering default width of the inbox is used.

My question is whether there is a way to emulate this feature in SAP Marketing Cloud or if you have any tips on that.

Thanks in advance for you collaboration.

Hi,

Currently there is NO out of the box functionality in SAP Marketing Cloud to make the pre-visualization of email content for recipient client.

However, SAP offers a different approach where you can see how the content will look in different email clients/devices upon opening the email, based on a 3rd Integration provider (Returnpath). This integration is available out of the box but you need to get your own license from Returnpath. Details for same can be found here:

Thanks so much Saurabh for your response. Didn't know about ReturnPath, looks like a powerful app.

Hi,

For the bit of text that is shown in a person's inbox without opening the e-mail:

I know that in all SAP's email templates, at the top there is a little box that sais "test here will show in the preview area of some email clients (Automatically hidden on mobile clients)".

I don't know HOW it works, but I think this is what you mean?

For example this mail template:

Thanks for your answer Joyca!

I tried copying the HTML code and writting in the block you indicated and indeed it works. Nevertheless I feel the rationale behind is the same as any other email you create, text you write in the first blocks becomes the text visible in the inbox preview. The bigger the inbox preview, the more text becomes visible with no precise control from the marketing expert side.

Thanks again for your collaboration!
