content catalog synchronization taking forever time to complete in 1811

We have recently migrated system from 6.3 to 1811. Content catalog synchornization taking forever time. It was working good in 6.3 version and usually finishes in minutes. However, we have observed it is taking very long time (in hours) in 1811 version. Please let me know if you have any inputs. It is a blocker.

Sometimes we are seeing deadlocks also in the logs. Please let us know if you have any inputs. I am triggering synchronization from backoffice. Click on Catalog -> Catalog Versions Select your staged version of the catalog ->e.g. exxonmobilContentCatalog-staged. Open that and click below ‘synchronize’ button as shown below.
