Dear Experts,
How does the Marketing Cloud system work when checkbox fields are merged?
I noticed that if the value of a checkbox field was true for one of the contact, then this value will always be true in the Golden Record. I think the last imported checkbox value should be retained.
Thank you
Adrian

Hello Adrian,
the build of the contact's best record does not depend on specific data types.
This means that boolean types (e.g. values coming from a checkbox) are handled in the same way as text-based data.
Please go through this document which describes how the contact's best record is built: https://help.sap.com/viewer/b88f770e4b7c4ecead5477e7a6c7b8f7/1811.500/en-US/1f4ef50e6aa4447099fe9e1e...
Here you will learn that (as one example) the priority of the origins (e.g. ERP or webshop) is an important concept to understand the match & merge process.
Please mark your question as answered, if my comment helped.
Best regards,
Tim

Hello Adrian,
I see what you mean. I got two ideas:
First you can check the enhancement implementation "Update Interaction Contact (best record)" to implement your boolean-specific logic here (e.g. override boolean "true" with "false" if coming from higher prio source)
Second it would be great if you could submit this as an improvement request through the SAP Customer Influence Program for SAP Marketing Cloud so that this can be evaluated there.
Best regards,
Tim
Hi hidegadrian ,
Did you manage to solve this issue? Based on Tim's proposal to use: enhancement implementation "Update Interaction Contact (best record)"?
I'm Curious, because we have the same issue currently and I'm looking how to setup this logic.
tim.nusch is there something developed on marketing cloud side in the meantime to tackle this issue? Could'nt find it really by browsing the web.
Kind Regards,
Teun van den Elzen
