Hello everybody! I hope you are fine!
I have a question: I have configured custom functions within manage your solution_in define functions for contacts (see image 1 and 2). And then I assigned them in the free text list correctly.
However, when I migrate the contact with its function from C4C, it reaches marketing with an error indicating that the function Z08 does not exist. And I don't understand why this happens because that function, I created it as I mentioned and as you can see in image 2.
Does anyone know that I need to activate or where else I have to add the contact functions to make it happen ok?
Please let me know if anyone knows how to do it.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Carla

Hi Carla,
this issue arises from the new SOA based integration from C4C. In this case, a Business Partner is created in SAP Marketing Cloud before an Interaction Contact is created from the Business Partner.
Because of that, you have to maintain the functions also in another place and implement a BAdI to map them to the functions of the Interaction Contact which you already maintained.
I had the same error: https://answers.sap.com/questions/13329738/bp-relationship-functionnumber-errorswarnings-usin.html
For the solution see the comments in this blog post:
Regarding the BAdI have a look at Elios question:
Hope that already helps. Otherwise let me know if you have further questions.
Best Regards

Hola schneidert ,

Hi carla_baldarrago29,
this seems so be a general error in SAP Marketing Cloud. We already have an incident open regarding that topic and SAP Development team is looking into it. I will let you know if I got some new feedback from SAP, but feel free to open an incident for the topic, too.

Hi carla_baldarrago29,
got feedback from SAP Support:
"We have fixed the issue. The correction is planned to be delivered with the next Hotfix Collection HFC3 of CE 2105. The implementation is planned to take place in the next maintenance window on 23rd of may. Thank you for your understanding."
So, it seems like we have to wait one week and then it should work.
Kind Regards
Tobias
ok schneidert thank you very much for the update! 🙂
Hi eliocentenob that's true.
For Business Partners you only have 20 characters for the description instead of 40 like for the Interaction Contacts functions.
But afaik these descriptions are not shown in Marketing Cloud UI, so it doesn't really matter and you could work with abbreviations.
BR Tobias
Hello eliocentenob and schneidert yes, I was already able to configure the functions as well. What I do comment on is that I had to enter the codes and descriptions of the functions in 2 tables. One in the one indicated by Joyca (Contact person_ Database and Data Management: Business Partner_Define Functions for Contact person) and I also had to add them in "the old table" that was used before, within: Manage your solution_Contacts and Profiles Marketing: Marketing_functions for contact .
Best regards,
Carla Baldárrago
