Configuration and integration with email provider

Hi experts

I am doing the process to enable the integration with the email provider. Has anyone done this process with a provider called Sinch?

This is the communication agreement that applies for this integration. SAP_COM_0040 Marketing - Campaign Execution - SAP Mobile Services Email Integration?

Can you guide me how to do an IP Warming process?

Does this provider also include the SMS service?

Kind regards

Elio C.

Hi Elio,

SAP Digital Interconnect has been acquired by Sinch last year: https://news.sap.com/2020/05/sinch-acquire-sap-digital-interconnect/

But yes, the communication scenario is still the same: SAP_COM_0040, which has been mentioned by you.

Do you already know the Delivery Best Practices Guide from Sinch? You can find it here: https://community.digitalinterconnect.com/t5/E-mail-365/Deliverability-Best-Practices-Guide-for-Sinc...

It includes also a Plan for a validated ramp-up (IP warming). In general, it means that you have to increase your sending volume to different Internet Service Providers to "acclimate" them (for example gmail) that it is okay if it gets a huge amount of emails from your IP-Address and does not declare them as spam.

So, from MC perspective, you have to build different target groups of different sizes which include contacts with different domains (gmail, yahoo, gmx, hotmail,...) and send them your emails and increase the number of mails day per day. As said, an example is shown in the guide above.

I did not use it yet, but yes, it looks like Sinch also offers SMS Service: https://community.digitalinterconnect.com/t5/custom/page/page-id/SMS_365_enterprise_service

Hope that helps 🙂

Hi kunalkumar.bansal, hi eliocentenob

I do not agree with that. In my opinion, the ramp-up has to be done in PROD system. That's because of three reasons:

1. Otherwise I would have to disconnect it after the ramp-up from TEST system and do the integration again to P system.

2. I would have to import the mail addresses to TEST system.

3. I would have to whitelist all of the addresses in TEST system.

So, in the past I did the ramp-up in PROD system.

In addition to that, the duration depends on the amount of mails that you need to send at peak times.

For example: A customer at peak time sends emails to his 3000 newsletter subscribers (B2B). For them we did the ramp-up (which has been communicated to and validated by SAP DI colleagues) within seven days.

Hope that helps.

Ok, in that scenario you comment:

I would have to order the PRD tenant in advance to do that activity while I continue with the other settings.

A colleague told me that they did this IP Warning in PRD, what I don't understand and I worry about is having to activate PRD if I have many other things ready.

Or is it an activity that is performed by a post activity Go Live.

Hi eliocentenob,

indeed it is always a little bit annoying part. But yes, you have to order the productive tenant and should have done at least the configuration steps that are needed for carrying out that process (e.g. permission marketing).

What we do is to import the contacts with their email addresses we would like to send our mailing to. Then we split them in target groups of sizes that make sense. (e.g. 50, 100, 200, 500.... however you defined in your ramp-up plan) and send the emails to them as planned in the ramp up plan.

If possible, I always pick out for example a newsletter mailing, which should take place anyway in the next weeks and use that mailing for the ramp-up. So, the customers won't get the newsletter on the same day but within one or two weeks. Maybe that's a possible way to go for you, too.

Hello Elio,

As Tobias mentioned the important urls for Sinch, the validated ramp-up (IP warm-up) is done in PROD system.

I hope this is helpful. Thank you.

Hola schneidert

A doubt

The plan for a validated ramp-up (IP warm-up). is carried out in what environment? Test or PRD?

I see that it is a very long process.

Best regards
