Our Marketing Team attends trade shows every year. From these shows they get contacts/leads. They would like to enter these leads into C4C and track which Leads become Opportunities in order to show the value in attending the trade shows.
In Opportunity you have field Sales Campaign. I thought to set up Campaigns for their trade shows then they can import their leads. However I am finding you need to set up a Target group as well then there is the Scheduling section in Campaign. At this point they aren't looking to send emails etc. Will this work?
In the Scheduling section on the campaign the fields are mandatory and I don't see a way to undo this.
Request clarification before answering.

Thank you both. We actually don't have C4M. Only using C4C Sales Cloud. Since you can reuse Target groups I think we can just create one per segment just as a placeholder for the Campaign.

Unfortunately I can't add anything further to Kamesh's answer, which is excellent, however, the management of trade shows within C4M <> C4C is an interesting topic. Our company invests a significant amount into event based marketing (trade shows, global exhibitions, seminars etc.), and contrary to many industry trends, the return from these investments is good. However, this is usually anecdotal feedback and if the C4M/C4C could enhance the way events are managed then we could really start to appraise investment in such events and have full visibility of what events are taking place, in addition to what activity (campaigns) have been planed to support the promotion of these events.
I have raised a SAP Influencer request which addresses the lack of contextual information that's parsed from C4M > C4C regarding leads which serves to address some of the improvement requirements for trade show/event management from our perspective.

Basically you need to have a Form designed in the SAP Marketing Cloud for your Marketing Team to capture the contact information while they attend the trade shows.
And you will need to have Campaign(trigger-based) that can react to the submission of the Form.
And on the campaign, have an action to create a lead on the C4C system.
