Class attribute of parent child categories not displayed correctly in Back office and Storefront

I have 3 classification categories lets say A,B & C and one attribute lets say feature1. Now, A is the parent and B its child and C is the child of B.
Now, attribute 'feature1' is assigned to A and C.
When open the "Attribute" tab in Backoffice for a product, 'feature1' is displayed under category C but not in category A.
also, same issue for storefront in product detailed page.
Is this OOTB limitation? If so, any way to override it?
