Is there a way to install the SAP Customer Checkout on mobile devices?

Thank you.

Hello anderson.schmitt

I'm thinking you already know the answer to this, but here you go:

CCO officially only supports Windows as operating system. That means you can use any Windows handheld (tablet or smaller) to install CCO.

If you want to use Android or iOS devices, you can still use it, but you have to do the installation on a Windows Server and then enable remote access, so that the devices' browser then connects to the CCO instance on the server.

You can check this (excellent) best practice guide on PartnerEdge, too: How-To Guide: SAP Customer Checkout - Best Practice Guide for Table Service.

Hope this helps,

Joerg.

By the way, we have successfully implemented a hotel food & beverage operation spanning 3 different locations within the country, connected via VPN:

  1. Headquarter (Windows Server 2008 R2 (yeah, old), running 9 instances of CCO plus two instances of CCOM)
  2. Location 1: 5x Samsung Galaxy Tab, 1 physical terminal running CCO, 6 printers (incl. 1 wireless) in different kitchens and bars
  3. Location 2: 4x Samsung Galaxy Tab, 1 physical terminal running CCO, 4 printers in different kitchens and bars

The solution has been live for about two months without any significant downtime or technical issues.

So as you can see, it is possible to implement the solution this way, too.

Best regards,

Joerg.
