Charcter Limit in Smartedit

Hi All,

We are using Hybris 2211 and we need to put character limit for 1 of the Custom String based attribute linkName for 30 characters in smartedit.

What would be the best way to limit the character length in smart edit for content contributors.

Hi balaji_k1, It is for custom component that we created to show Sticker tags on navigation Node. We are also looking to set character limit for OOTB CMSLinkComponent, Attribute LinkName

As far as I’m aware, there is no out-of-the-box solution for this. The customer will need to implement some custom development by adding a length check within the verifyNameField method of the DefaultCMSLinkComponentValidator class de.hybris.platform.cmsfacades.cmsitems.validator.DefaultCMSLinkComponentValidator
