Changing C4C Integration from SAP CRM to SAP ECC

Hello,

We have currently C4C Configured and Integrated to SAP CRM system through CPI. Now, We are planning to decommission the SAP CRM system.

So, we now have to change the Integration from SAP CRM to SAP ECC.

1. Can you confirm that it can be done? Hope there is no technical limitations to do this switch.

2. If its possible, what are the challenges? How do we handle codelists? How do we handle the Master/Transaction data in C4C already using these codelists?

3. Is there any other challenges that we need to tackle?'

Hope you can list all the challenges and major steps. Thanks for your help.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi praveenkumardwivedisap

Thanks a lot for your feedback and response. I understand the steps better now but let me explain our current setup below so that we can confirm our understanding is aligned with yours.

Existing system landscape:

Our C4C is getting data from SAP CRM system which inturn is connected to SAP ECC system. I have shown the flow below.

SAP ECC --> SAP CRM --> CPI --> C4C

We have implemented C4C 5 years back and users have been using the same to create Activities, Opportunities and Leads. So, our C4C system has the Customer and Product data from SAP CRM system(originated from SAP ECC) and users have created Activites, Opportunities and Leads for those Customers. These transactions don't replicate to SAP CRM and just stay in C4C. The customer and product number range in C4C are same as SAP CRM and SAP ECC.

So, are you saying that if we integrate our C4C to SAP ECC directly instead of via SAP CRM, the current customer and product data will not be valid anymore? If so, the current Activites, opportunities and Leads would also become invalid?

Thanks a lot for trying to help us. Appreciate it very much.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravi

This landscape change is possible and won't cause any issues in your data which is new or sent from ECC. But data related to CRM will not be valid further. This is because data being replicated from external system is linked to communication system, sender system, external ID and as these will not be valid anymore your current CRM data will not be valid. You will not be able to use it in external pricing or data replication as well.

You can try to get the data from CRM to ECC first and then replicate it back to C4C from ECC after a C4C tenant refresh. But, request you to connect with official channels via incident for recommendation on how to proceed as there will be a lot of other dependencies related to your system and processes.

Hi Praveen Kumar Dwivedi,

Thanks for your response. I agree its not a simple change and needs similar to Fresh Integration effort.

Since, we already have data in C4C, like customer, contact person and material, that's where my concern is and looking for clarity.

I hope, once the CPI flows are changed, and ECC Integration steps are done, the data flow won't have issue.

I am just concerned as the data now in C4C was pushed from SAP CRM system and now after successfully integrating(connection) with ECC, will the data push from ECC work without any issues. I have to verify code lists definitely and likewise is there any other objects/steps I need to be careful.

It would be great if someone has done this switch.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravi

Your question isn't accurate to what you should be asking.

CRM and ECC are two separate systems and their integration via CPI involves two separate packages in CPI. It cannot be simply changed from CRM to ECC.

It will be a complete landscape change and a fresh integration implementation with ECC.

You can refer documentation on how to integrate C4C with ERP.
