Changes to staged content catalog are visible in online catalog without sync

Hi,

everytime I make changes to my staged content catalog in wcms or smartedit, the changes are immediately visible in the online content catalog and therefore in the storefront. No catalog sync is done after the change. Does anybody have an idea? The online content catalog is set as the default one in the site.

Hi Stefan,

Please check version of the component which you are editing. Even though your are selecting staged catalog from the explorer tree and you are selecting the page which you are going edit. Pages is associated with staged catalog version but the component can be associated with online catalog version. In that case if you are editing the component it will directly reflect in online catalog, since the component is directly associated with online catalog.

thank you for your answer. I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but I checked in HMC and I can see that my staged component got edited, but not my online component, yet the change is still visible in the storefront without synchronization.

Whats really strange is that if I change in smartedit to the online catalog, the change is not visible in smartedit and also not visible in the storefront. When I change back to staged in smartedit, in both smartedit and the storefront the change is visible again. It seems like smartedit changes the content catalog version for the storefront 😕

As mention by you, changing the online catalog is not visible in storefront indicates the default content catalog is staged one. Please check under cms site

Sorry, I think I expresses myself wrong. What i meant by that is if I change to the staged catalog in smartedit, the content catalog for the storefront also seems to be changed to the staged one. If I switch back to online content in smartedit, the storefront also uses the online content catalog again.

Weird, I just installed a vanilla hybris 6.5 instance with a recipe and the same problem exists.
