CDT closes after login

After an update to 7.0.14.0 CDT closes after login screen. It happens both with manual login and SSO, but it's only happening when accessing it remotely, while it works fine if opened on the server. We've tried reinstalling it, clearing cache/temp files, and checked all of the IE setting. As for CDT logs, the only thing I could find was in CCtr_CDT log, where there is a string of DBG messages like this:

parseWSDUserSettings: Unsupported setting item: [SC_UI_SETTINGS_COLUMNS_*]

for a slew of different elements followed by

[ERR]initSequence -> [object Error]:438 - Object doesn't support property or method 'setMsgStatus'0

after which CDT closes.

Any dieas what can be causing this?
