Hi all!
We have received a ticket from a customer refered to B2B Policies. All policies under 'Policy Catalog' are marked with a red dot.
Once we go inside one of the policies, we have the following message: ''Incomplete Policy - Select at least one Asset'. This is clear, we need to create Asset Type, Asset, attribute...and assing it to the policy.
So far is OK, but in the details of the policy we see the PolicyID with the following message: 'PolicyID needs to be defined.' We think this message could have been there since the migration of the B2B console to the new version.
All processes are runing well with the ID of the policies there were defined in the old B2B console, which we have for every policy.
Our fear is that we do not really know how to proceed with this. We do not know if it is mandatory to define a policy ID or we can live with 'old IDs' which we cannot see inside the B2B console but we have. Maybe we should define a 'Custom ID' for the policies copying the old ones we have, but we are not sure if this is going to be ok and all processes are going to continue running well.
We do not finde a specific spot insede SAP Help refered to this topic, any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello,
This is actually a pretty common situation after migrating the B2B Policy Catalog.
The "PolicyID needs to be defined" message you’re seeing is more about UI completeness — it doesn’t necessarily stop your processes from running, especially if the backend is still recognizing the original IDs from before the migration. So technically, yes, you could continue without defining new Policy IDs for now.
However, it’s strongly recommended to manually define a Policy ID at this point, ideally using the old IDs you have documented. This helps future-proof your setup, especially if future patches, upgrades, or API calls start relying on visible Policy IDs. Defining them now avoids surprises later.
You can edit the policy, assign the old ID into the Policy ID field, save it, and reactivate the policy. Processes shouldn’t be affected if you stick to the original ID values.
SAP Help doesn't document this exact post-migration behavior in detail, but the general reference is here:
https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_BUSINESS_TECHNOLOGY_PLATFORM/b2b_policies_manage
(You can search for "Policy Catalog migration" and "Policy Custom ID" for related topics.)
In summary:
You can live with old IDs temporarily, but defining them now is strongly recommended to avoid future technical issues.
Regards
Chuma
