Category pages not navigating correctly in smartedit -1811

From backoffice, I have set WCMS Cockpit Preview URL (wcms->websites->wcms cockpit properties) , defaultPreviewCategory and defaultPreviewProduct, with a category and its relevant product. Post this, whenever i try to access any category page (pages- category page) from smartedit, it always takes me to default page,

Doing the similar settings in backoffice-wcms cockpit properties, preview url was working fine in cmscockpit for all categories.

Why the same approach is not working with smartedit? Is there anything specific that needs to be done to make it work with smartedit?

The concept of adding defaultPreviewCategory and defaultPreviewProduct works, but the issue is it takes you to same default page that has been configured for any category selected from smartedit. As smartedit is a content management tool, it works with contentCatalog, instead of productCatalog.

Due to this, it takes you to the category page as configured in WCMS Cockpit properties. Product information will not change as per category selected in smartedit, as it shows the defaultPreviewCategory and defaultPreviewProduct and that relevant category page always

Hi Member,

Add a default preview category/default preview product at the site level under WCMS Cockpit properties tab from back office whose pages you are rendering. It will resolve the issue.
