Can you set up SSO with SAML for both Backoffice and legacy cockpits?

I am in a situation where I need to use the legacy Product Cockpit in conjunction with Backoffice. This is due to my need to utilize the Bundling feature that is still only available in the legacy Product Cockpit. I have been asked to see if we can utilize an SSO solution (most likely using Gigya) for both Backoffice and the legacy cockpits.
The Help page (https://help.hybris.com/1808/hcd/5dbac1b174944cff9eb5a1541c2876cb.html) talks about a samlssobackoffice extension you need to include for Backoffice. With the legacy documentation (https://help.hybris.com/1808/hcd/8be60f8e866910148e2199f7fa066b34.html) referring to using a cookie through the Remember Me functionality.
Are these two compatible?
