Can we add and use dimensions in POS?

Hi,

For one of our clients, we want to use GL configuration based on Dimensions along with GL accounts. Apparently this client also going to use SAP Customer checkout in around 10 stores.

Question from our finance team is if they setup GL determination based on dimensions, will POS support it? Is it possible to setup and control POS based on dimensions. Here dimension for client is equal to their various stores.

Please suggest and give your thoughts.

Hello Gunjan:

If by "Dimensions" you refer to "Cost accounting dimensions", then the answer is yes, but only the first dimension is supported "out of the box". For additional dimensions you would probably need a plugin (see also this question).

If you refer to "GL account segmentation" (sometimes also called dimensions), then I don't think you would have a problem, but you would have to configure the _SYS codes for each account in each branch accordingly. With "advanced GL account determination" enabled I believe you could achieve most or all of the desired effects in revenue accounts.
