Can a custom drop down field hold up to 60k values?

Hi SAP

We are looking at uploading International Classification of Diseases (found here) in a single custom drop down field. Can the system accommodate? Note that the ICD codes have versions. We cannot simply delete the old version and upload a new one as old tickets created with those old version codes will not show the value correctly anymore. What are the limitations that we need to consider when uploading a lot of values in a single field?

I know that a drop down value can only be up to 128 characters. Anything else we need to consider?

Hello Denmar,

There is no such restriction on the number of values that I know of. But there will be performance issues for sure and also the maintenance of the fields will become difficult as only 300 fields will be visible in UI level in the Field definitions.
