C4C Sales Order validation by external reference

Hi Colleagues,

In SAP SD Sales Orders we have a configuration parameter to validate as a warning if same PO Number (BSTKD) is assigned to another sales order to same customer.

Does C4C Sales Order support same validation for correspondent field "external reference"? Or do we have to develop it in SDK?

Although there is a duplication check for sales opportunities since the 2011 release

A duplicate check is not there yet. I would advise you to register an influence for this request as it does make sense to have a duplicate check in place within sales order management https://influence.sap.com/

I can see in your response that opportunity duplicate validation goes further than we are expecting in the case of Sales Orders. We just want to validate duplicity in a combination of two fields: customer and external reference, like in ECC side.

In that case I'll ask our SDK developer to create the warning in our project. But it's not a bad idea to suggest an SAP development in influence.sap.com.
