C4C How to set up a report so that the GEO Map Chart Type can be used?

Hi,

I would like to use the GEO Map Chart Type in one of my reports.

Looking at the documentation,

I have made sure that i have the required setting in my report; country/region as well as a counter (in my case a number of transactions of a certain type and an ID and description field. Still the chart type Map in the More Charts section is greyed out. I also checked some standard reports, but the GEO Map Chart Type remains greyed out.

Does anybody know what I am missing here?

Hello,

You need not to include the "ID & Description" field but instead, you need to change the display type of "Country/Region" or "State" field to "ID and Description" as shown. This could done by clicking the header of the table column or field setting. Then you should be able to load the Geo Chart.

Thanks a lot! I interpreted the help text incorrectly.

It works in few of my reports, i guess i have to be sure i select the correct Country/Region field (customer of object like opportunity, ticket, quote etc.)

Hi All,

Recently I learnt that Country/Region field needs to have a specific technical ID to make the GEO map chart available for visualization:

I learnt that the field which I would like to use from specific data source has a different technical ID.

What could be done in this situation - is it possible to change the technical ID of this field in the data source? Or is there a way of creating a new field in the same data source with the required technical ID?

If any of the above options is possible, please share any documentation on how to do it.
