C4C-Editing restrictions for business user

Dear team,

I am trying to give a specific user restrictions so he will be able to only see Opportunities but he won't be able to edit them or create a new one.

I tried to change the restrictions in Read access to unrestricted and in Write access to No Access

but the user can still add new opportunity.

What did I do wrong?

Dear Cohen,

Opportunities can be accessed via some other work centers too.There is a possibility that, you might have given Write Access to other work center view, Where the Opportunities can be accessed.

Kindly check whether you have given restricted write access in all the work centers, Where you can access Opportunity. Search with Opportunity in the Work Center and View Assignment tab, you will get the relevant work centers. Give No Write Access to all these work centers.

This may work

1.Create a Page Layout for the Opportunity Quick Create.

2.Hide the Save and Open button and do not make it available for personalisation

3.Assign this Page Layout to the Business Role

Note that preventing Create eg in code can have undesirable effects. For example we tried to stop users creating Phone Activities. The result was that the Live Activity Center did not work because that creates Phone Activities as the user.
