In a case where a user/technical user creates a lead without an existing customer, then realizes it should actually be a lead with an existing customer, is it possible to add the account information to this lead or do we have to create a new lead?
I know the duplicate check exists however it is not covering all the cases perfectly.
Request clarification before answering.
Hello Kemal,
within the Finetuning Activity Leads you can setup the Lead Status Schema and decide, in which status what actions are possible on the lead.

So e.g. if you have a lead within an existing account and figure out at a later stage, that this account is already know, you can use the action "associate account (and contact)". If you choose this action, you will have an additional duplicate check popping up, where you can choose an existing account (and contact) to be linked to the Lead.

Depending on the setup in the status schema, you can afterwards also work further on the lead (e.g. convert into opportunity).
I hope that helps.
Let me know, in case of any questions.

Hi Kemal,
You are right. You need to create a new Lead for the already existing customer and delete the old lead from a data quality perspective.
