Best way to change standard query

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to change the standard opportunity - My opportunities query to include Owner of other Accounts besides Opportunity Owner or the owner of the Opportunity Account’s Territory.

Is it possible to achieve this through Adaptation mode or need to make changes in the query using PDI? Kindly share your suggestions on what and how to? TIA

Hi Tia,

Although your question is not formulated very clear, as an administrator you are indeed able to extend the standard queries in the opportunity list by adaption.

Open the adaption mode and set up your query in line with your requirements in terms of filters and lay out. Then drill 'up' in the navigation area in the adaption area of the screen, until you reach implementation. In implementation you will find Queries. Here you can see that your new query is part of the list. Any standard queries you might want to hide by unticking the Set as Visible box.

Thanks a lot for your response, MJ. Just one query, will this change in the standard query using adaptation works for all? I mean can this be rolled out to other users as well? Sorry, im yet to get Admin access. Hence this query.

Hi,

If you run the steps as an administrator in the adaption mode, indeed a new query will become visible for all users.

When you change it as an end-user in the personalization mode, the changes are only visible for you as an individual user.

Thank you! I just tried and I prefer to change the Standard query of My opportunities & My team's opportunities the same way that the pre-configured queries are and not as a filter. Could you pls suggest how to make this change in PDI?
