ARTICLE MASTER CHARACTERISTIC VALUES - READ BAPI

Dear Experts ,

I want to read the characteristic values of Article Master and I am using below BAPI

BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL

Object Key = Article number

Object Table = 'MARA'

CLASSNUM = Merchandise Category

Class type = '026'.

But this BAPI is not returning the characteristic values . Is there any other BAPI which is retail specific ?

In SAP Retail, it matters whether you are asking about informational characteristics or variant creating characteristics (i.e. used with the generic / variant concept).

There is a standard class that provides rich access to classification/configuration data for Generic Articles and Variants: CL_MAT_CLASSIFIC_RT. This class is described in SAP Note 2381429 – S/4HANA data model changes In Retail Generic Article

A classic function module also works: MATERIAL_READ_CLASSIFIC_RT.
