Hi,
When the description of a Sales Receipt line is changed for the default for the article (press on the description cell for the relevant sales receipt line) the change of description is not sent through to SAP B. Instead only the default description for the article/item master data (ItemName) appears on the resulting AR Invoice or AR Reserve Invoice.
The altered description should come through into SAP B1 to provide a record.
I can confirm that the altered description is transmitted through to the "CCOS"."SALESITEM" table, and can therefore only presume that the mistake is within the B1iF scenario.
Could this please be resolved or does it need to be logged as an SAP issue?
Thanks.
Martin.

Hello Martin,
Your request to pass the changed article description from CCO to the Business One marketing document is valid.
It would however require a change of the current standard system behavior. Please submit your idea in the Influence channel of Customer Checkout. Ideally other partners and customers like this idea and vote it up.
In case you are unfamiliar with the Influence process kindly read through this blog: https://blogs.sap.com/2019/02/05/continuous-influence-session-for-sap-customer-checkout/
Kind regards,
Gunther

Hello Martin,
Perhaps the following information can serve as a workaround for your use case: In Customer Checkout you can enter a comment for each item line. Just hit the Position number and fill the Note field.

The content will be transmitted to the Business One document as a Free Text in the item grid.

Kind regards,
Gunther

The technique of being able to change an article description a the sales line level opens up an important channel of communication between the sales person using SAP CCO and the back end ERP system.
For example, we have one customer who wishes to record a customer purchase order number in certain situations. We could setup a non stock Item called "Purchase Order No." and add this to Quick Selection. When a sales person needs to record a customer PO number they would simply add this article to the sale and change the description to the customers PO number. This would then be fed through to SAP B1.

Hi Gunther,
I disagree, you can change the Item description at the line level on any marketing document in SAP Business One, as there is the need to do so for various reasons, which is probably why you also allow this in CCO (change description, hold down the ctrl key and press the tab key).
The description at the line level just needs to be passed to the DI by the B1iF scenario, everything else is there, it just needs to be hooked up.
Just to be clear, I am not proposing being able to change the Item Master Data field (OITM.ItemName), it is the resulting Invoice line level description (INV1.Dscription) that needs to reflect the change made on the sales receipt .
Thanks.

Hello Martin,
When you overwrite the default description of an article in SAP Customer Checkout this has no effect on the corresponding document in SAP Business One. In my opinion this is consistent with the standard SAP Business One system behavior because for example in an AR Invoice you cannot just overwrite the item description either. Business One doesn't allow that.
So the purpose of changing the article description is really limited to Customer Checkout. For example, if you would like to print the sales receipt with item names in a foreign language.
One final comment: The CCO manager takes over the changed article description from CCO. So in the Receipts app for example you will see the article text entered in CCO.
Kind regards,
Gunther
