Approvals - How to assign all users the right to approve their marketing program?

Hi All,

would it be possible that somebody would shed some light in reference to the following catalogues:

• SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_APV_PC - Marketing Approvals

and

• SAP_CA_BC_MYINBOX_PC - My Inbox ?

In our scenario we have the following requirements:

1. Campaigns: We have enabled the approval workflow for campaigns and have assigned both catalogues above to the users so they authorized to approve the campaigns in their Inbox and so they appear as approvers of campaigns -> this works fine!
2. Programs: No workflow is enabled here. All users should be able to create marketing programs but these users not necesarrily should have the right to approve campaigns -> here is our problem!

If we assign the catalogue SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_APV_PC to all users, all users appear in the dropdown where you select them to approve campaigns. This is not wanted by the customer. Is there any way that all user can approve programs (without any workflow) and on the other side they are not authorized to approve campaigns?

Answer of SAP in reference to Auto Approval

Hi Oliver,

I would suggest to assign the SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_APV_PC catalog only to the users who can approve campaigns.

For programs, you could use the auto-approval feature. If the workflow for program approval is active (in the "Manage your Solution" application) but there is no active workflow definition (the program approval workflow is inactive in the “Manage Workflows” application), programs will be released when the users click on the “Submit for Approval” button.

Dear Brigitte,

thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately this idea is not working. If no workflow is active than an exception is appearing.

For this reason I deactived in Manage your Solution App the Approval for Programs again. Do you have any other idea?
