Address independent communication data in SAP C4C

I was wondering what is the best way to integrate SAP C4C in a scenario where the SAP backend systems are using address-independent communication data (while as far as I can see SAP C4C knows only the standard address-dependent communication data).

My approach would be to extend the Account BO and add additional custom fields for the missing data (I guess I would replicate also only standard communication data since I don't like to handle tables for each communication channel). The drawback would be that I therefore loose all formatting options since the fields in C4C would be plane text.

You could also think about mapping the communication data in the in- and output BAdIs in the on-prem system but this seems to add more complexity in the middleware (e.g. in case of address change on-prem we would need to duplicate the communication data).

Am I missing something? What would be your preffered way?
