Hi experts

I am trying to define the countries in the MKT, but I have restricted access. seems more like a bug than the ones normally seen in ERP 🙂

Hi Elio,

does your user have the role SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT (or one that you created from that template)?

If so, please also check if that role has assigned the catalog SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_ADDR1_PC.

If that's not the case, please assign that catalog to the role and the role to your user (if he doesn't already have it). That should solve your problem.

Hi eliocentenob,

A while ago, I needed to add a Region, and back then in the What's New they had mentioned that adding additional regions was a new possibility.

This config didn't work for me at first, but for that, I needed to update my business role. I hadn't yet updated my business roles with the new release.

(from SAP Support: The insert regions authorizations are granted by the new business catalog 'Business Services Address Management - Configuration' (SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_ADDR_PC) - please add the catalog to the underlying business roles so that the business configuration experts can maintain regions. The business catalog is part of the business role template 'Configuration Expert - Business Process Configuration' (SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT).".

However, I also wanted to add a country, as the team for ERP had made a quick fix to regulate something related to the Brexit, that involved a new country code (which they would later fix properly without a new country code, but due to the big uncertainties there were, there was first a quick fix). So I was getting interface errors on that code of course.

Back then, the reply I got from SAP was that they foresee all ISO country codes, and no additional countries can be created...

(please do let me know in case you would get a different reply from SAP though, I'd still like that option :D)

Hi Joyca.

Thank you for your comments, SAP tells me that so far there is no option to create another country, as they told you.

At least in my system, with both catalog SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_ADDR_PC and SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_ADDR1_PC being assigned, I am able to add a new country as well as assign a new region to a newly defined country.

@Saurabh Kabra

Was the screenshot of Country addition from one of the internal SAP system ?

Back then, the reply I got from SAP was that they foresee all ISO country codes, and no additional countries can be created...

I remember this and in-fact I have told few Customers while working at SAP.

To my recollection, the recent possibility that came was addition of 'Region'.

Cheers.

':D same problem as last time, I didn't compare the template business roles to the custom business roles yet.

Indeed now that I synced them, the "Define Countries" configuration does allow new entries! eliocentenob, you can also try to update your business roles via the "Business Role Templates" app!

Hi eliocentenob

Hi eliocentenob

SAP should have defined the country in our system as per the ISO.

I am unsure which is missing for you and you are trying to add it.

I would suggest you to create an Incident with SAP and request the App Platform Team to add the missing Country as part of Standard delivery.

To my belief, we should have all valid Countries in our System.

Cheers
