The SAP Premium Engagement Session focusing on ’Clean Core and Extensibility’ took place virtually on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Please find the agenda here.

This event was our first virtual event from the Nordic Premium Engagement team this spring. We had two very skilled presenters Julia Gobbett, Center of Expertise Expert in Customer Success and Tom McShane, Business Manager in Customer Success presenting to you.
In the first part Julia gave an overview to define the term "clean core", how it benefits both the business and IT, and what makes an extension clean core compliant. We got introduced to the ABAP Cloud development model as a common extensibility model for building ABAP extensions side by side on SAP BTP ABAP environment, and in-app and on-stack with both SAP S/4HANA cloud and on-premise. For building and innovating on SAP Business Technology Platform, Julia introduced the application development and process automation capabilities that offer pro, low and no code technologies that enable a fusion team of developers and business experts bring their unique skills to new projects, and finally Julia spoke about the SAP Application Extension Methodology with its terminology and templates, that can support you in a structured way to define an extension use case and map the appropriate clean core technologies for different extension tasks.
The second part was covered by Tom who shared the Premium Engagement Business Scenarios for ‘Evolve towards your digital transformation with a Clean Core’ and ‘Integrate, Extend and Innovate with SAP Business Technology Platform’ showing the relevant PE services covering this clean core and extensibility topic. Tom also deep dived into two specific services with the Extensibility Strategy Workshop to define a strategy to handle extensions that adhere to the clean core principals and the SAP BTP Programming Models Development Enablement covering hands-on development enablement workshops for the CAP and RAP models.
These services are available in our Premium Engagement portfolio today and can be leveraged by discussing with your Technical Quality Manager (TQM).
