Do you need to login to the SAP Training or SAP Learning Hub portal, or you are having issues displaying your SAP certificates or registering to an exam and you are not sure if your SAP Universal ID (UID) is correctly set?
Don’t worry! In this blog you will find everything you need to know. Let’s start…
The SAP Learning Site now require a Universal ID account to login and being able to use all their functionalities, as most of the SAP systems and portals as well.
To know more about Universal ID supported browsers and portals please see the following KBAs (Knowledge Base Article):
But what is a Universal ID account? Quick recap…
An SAP Universal ID account can be considered like an SAP User IDs wallet that provides an easier access to our SAP systems. It allows customers to combine all their existing and future User ID(s) under a single password, eliminating the need to keep track of all their User ID numbers.
In fact, once you create a Universal ID and link to it at least one valid User ID, you will be able to log in to the SAP portals using your Universal ID and Universal ID password combination.
Spoiler alert…a Universal ID account is always an email, there won’t be any number associated: SAP User IDs? What’s the difference? Find out more here…
To know more about Universal ID and how to create one please see the following CIC blogs and SAP Universal ID Support documentations.
Universal ID criteria...
Now, to have a Universal ID correctly set, the Universal ID account must meet the criteria provided by the SAP Partner and Training & Adoption teams, and the criteria are:
Please note: if you have a duplicate UID account, one of your accounts must be deleted to be able to gather your certificates or schedule an exam. Please note that if there are certificates linked to one of the Universal ID accounts you own, that UID cannot be deleted otherwise the certificates linked will be lost.
Recovery email. What it is and what to do...
Adding a recovery email to your Universal ID account it simply means adding a new email address to your Universal ID, which must have a different email domain then your primary Universal ID email.
As per KBA 2882908 - How to add an additional user or e-mail address to the SAP Universal ID (UID):
Please note: if to your new added email there are no P-user ID or S-user ID associated, the email will only be visible under the “Not Linked” tab, but this does not mean that it is not correctly linked, only that there are no P-user ID or S-user ID accounts associated.
The “Linked” tab will only always shows all the P-user ID and S-user ID linked to your Universal ID.
Also note that even if your Universal ID is set up correctly in the Universal ID Account Manager, it might happen to receive the following message while trying to schedule an exam:
“Please note: to pass an exam and receive your certificate you need to have an SAP Universal ID setup with two linked email accounts! Please setup your SAP Universal ID and / or add your second email account.”
In case don’t worry! This is an automated hardcoded message to remind our customers to have a correct Universal ID setup and it won’t prevent you from scheduling the exam.
