SAP S-user ID, or S-user, is a unique identifier that allows you to login to your SAP products, report a case, download software, configure connections, and more. Your S-user ID contains the letter ‘S’ followed by a string of numbers (e.g. S00*******).

You may come across the term ‘Super administrator’ and wonder how that differs from S-user. The super administrator within the SAP product your company is using (e.g. SAP Analytics Cloud) encompasses all administrative duties and has t highest level of authorization. The Super administrator is usually the person in your organization who originally purchased the SAP product.

How are S-user IDs assigned?

For new customers, the individual who purchased the SAP product will receive a welcome email containing their S-user ID. In this case, SAP assigns the first S-user ID.

The Super administrator can assign S-user IDs to various people in their organization, such as managers, who may need admin-level status. Everyone else in the company who uses the product does not necessarily need to have S-user IDs, they can simply login using their work email address once the Super administrator or S-user grants them access.

Please note, SAP cannot assign additional S-user IDs on your company’s behalf.

If your organization has only one Super Administrator who has left, please contact the Customer Interaction Center to nominate a new Super Administrator. Ensure to provide the following information:

Ensure that the new nominee has below details:

S-user ID (if already created):

First name:

Surname:

Email address (note- domain of the email id should match company name):

Phone number with country code:

Designation:

Reason for new super administrator nomination.

To ensure that a new Super Admin can be nominated and granted Super Admin rights, please confirm that your organization has a valid maintenance agreement with SAP and that the installation is active.

Let’s look at the steps, as how the company’s super admin creates an S-user ID.

  1. Logon to SAP for Me and go to User Management
  2. Click Request User on the top of the application

     3. Fill in the Request User form

  1. Click Submit
  2. User was requested, click OK
  • The user request is not instant and may take some time to complete.
  • The new user will receive an e-mail from SAP Notification Services with the new S-user ID and an activation link, which is valid for 10 days.
  • You can check the status of the new user on the Requested Users tab. Once the user is complete it will move to the Users tab.
  • After the user is created, click the user ID and add a phone number or change any available details if needed.
  • Assign authorizations to the user ID (see KBA 1511008).

How to delete S-user IDs

  1. In the User Management application, go to the Users tab
  2. Scroll down the list or use the filter feature to find the S-user ID(s) to be deleted
  3. Click the checkbox in front of the user(s)
  4. Click Delete (if an error appears around important functions see KBA 1271517)

monikar03_4-1728982101514.png

  • It may take up to 24 hours to process your request for deletion.
  • Deleted S-user IDs are listed in the Deleted Users tab of the application for twelve months and cannot be reactivated (KBA 1811859).
  • Only a user that holds Super Administrator rights can delete another Super Administrator.
  • S-user ID with important function (or critical roles) can be deleted only once those functions have been transferred to another S-user ID within the same company ERP number (KBA 1271517).
  • Every customer account requires at least one Super Administrator. Therefore, you cannot delete all Super Administrators under your account. In exceptional cases when there is no active maintenance linked to your account, all Super Administrators can be deleted by SAP, provided you Account Executive confirms the request.

For issues or questions on this topic, report a case for component XX-SER-FORME. Be sure to include details, S-user ID, screenshots, etc. to assist in troubleshooting.
