What is it about?

Whether you're a business consultant/analyst or a technical developer/consultant, our offered Instructor-Led Trainings (ILTs) are designed to meet your role-specific learning needs, both on-site and remote (VLC/virtual live classroom). Some of our popular training offerings include:

However, attending these trainings requires setting aside dedicated periods, usually over several days. But what if you don't have the luxury of that dedicated time yet still want to learn SAP Commerce Cloud.

Fortunately, for the theoretical content, various E-Learning courses are available on learning.sap.com (aka. LSC), such as:

Nonetheless, solely relying on theory without hands-on exercises is not sufficient for complete learning. No worries, LSC also provides access to live, fully configured SAP training systems to carry out exercises and experiment. Known as "Practice Systems," these setups enable practical learning experiences. Let's delve deeper into these SAP Commerce Cloud Practice Systems.

Who is SAP Commerce Cloud Practice System for?

These practice systems are ideal for:

  • Business consultants/analysts
  • Technical consultants/developers
  • Anyone interested in learning SAP Commerce Cloud but unable to attend dedicated training sessions yet eager to gain hands-on experience.

What does a SAP Commerce Cloud Practice System offer?

Here’s what you get:

  • A live, pre-configured SAP VM with a ready-to-run SAP Commerce Cloud Server.
  • Learning material on the VM for self-study, mirroring conventional training content. This includes:
    • PDFs of presentation slides covering theoretical concepts (especially from ILTs).
    • Step-by-step exercise PDFs to guide your learning journey.
    • Specific to technical training practice systems:
      • Pre-installed and configured Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse or VSCode.
      • Source code for exercises and corresponding solutions.

How can you book it?

Practice Systems are part of the SAP Learning Hub. To access an SAP Commerce Cloud Practice System, you'll need a subscription to SAP Learning Hub. (Note: SAP employees have an internal edition by default.)

Here's how to book a Practice System:

1. Ensure you have a valid subscription to SAP Learning Hub.

2. Visit https://learning.sap.com and search for SAP Commerce Cloud or a specific practice system (if you know the name).

3. Use the "Access" filter to include non-free assets by choosing "All".

 Check "Hands-on Practice" in the Learning Type filter as well:

4. Browse and select the relevant Practice System. For example, "Hands-on Practice for SAP Commerce Cloud, Composable Storefront Developer Training" (or any other one):

5. Click "Get system access":

This brings you to the practice system booking workspace. Here you can click on the "Enroll".

6. Confirm your booking by clicking "Confirm"; the system will prepare and notify you once ready.

7. Durting the system prepration, you can also see the links for downloading the system material, e.g.:

  • Setup Guide, which will be used later for you to connect to the SAP VM.
  • Exercises, which contain the exercise PDF or the hints about the exercises. Actually, for SAP Commerce Cloud, all the exercises PDFs are on the SAP VM that you will be working in later. So there is no need to download the exercise PDF here.

8. After the system is prepared, you can click on the Start button to start the Practice System, use the setup guide to connect to the SAP VM and begin your hands-on exercises.
