CRM 2007 comes with the easy-to-use functionality. It makes the life of users as well as of the consultants very easy. You can easily customize it to meet the customer's requirements. Lets start with a very simple example.

If you see the SAP provided menu there are some work centers which users are not interested in. In my example the user is not interested in E-Mail Inbox in the L shaped navigation bar.

Now the question is how do I remove/deactivate this link from navigation. The answer is very simple. Follow the few simple steps to deactivate the Work centers.

Use the transaction CRMC_UI_PROFILE or go to IMG path CRM->Business Roles-> Define Business Roles.

Select the Business Role you are working with. ( I am assuming that you are aware of the concept of Business Roles , very similar to IC Web profile concept ).

Double click on Deactivate work center at the dialog structure on the left and you will see the screen shown below.

Set the work center pages for Email to inactive. Save your settings.

Relaunch the Web UI (call transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB, select CRM_UI_FRAME as component and press test button) to test your changes.

The E-Mail Inbox is not visible (deactivated) from the L shaped navigation bar.

Isn't it simple?

I will be giving examples of more features and simple steps to configure in my coming blogs. Sit back, relax and have fun with CRM 2007.
