In today’s digital era, streamlining document workflows is essential for businesses to stay competitive. Integrating DocuSign, a leading e-signature solution, with SAP Sales Cloud V2 can enhance the efficiency of managing contracts and agreements directly within your CRM system. Leveraging SAP BTP Open Connectors, this integration becomes seamless, allowing for a smooth exchange of data between DocuSign and SAP Sales Cloud V2.

There is no standard integration available between DocuSign and SAP Sales Cloud V2. However, we developed this integration as a proof of concept (POC) using SAP BTP Open Connectors. This POC demonstrates how businesses can streamline their document workflows by connecting DocuSign with SAP Sales Cloud V2. The integration was custom-built to showcase the potential benefits, including improved efficiency and better data management. Although this solution is not out-of-the-box, it serves as a solid foundation for future implementations tailored to specific business needs.

Why Integrate DocuSign with SAP Sales Cloud V2?

Integrating DocuSign with SAP Sales Cloud V2 brings several advantages:

  1. Improved Efficiency: Automate the process of sending, signing, and storing documents, reducing the need for manual intervention.
  2. Enhanced Compliance: Ensure all documents are securely stored and easily retrievable, meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
  3. Seamless User Experience: Allow users to manage the entire document lifecycle within SAP Sales Cloud V2, avoiding the need to switch between platforms.

Overview of SAP BTP Open Connectors

SAP BTP Open Connectors is a key component of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) that simplifies and accelerates the connectivity to third-party applications. With over 160 pre-built connectors, Open Connectors provides a unified API layer to integrate various services with SAP solutions.

For our integration, Open Connectors will act as the bridge between SAP Sales Cloud V2 and DocuSign, enabling seamless communication and data exchange.

Step-by-Step Integration Guide : Setting Up DocuSign in SAP BTP Open Connectors

  1. Access SAP BTP Cockpit:
    • Log in to your SAP BTP Cockpit and navigate to the Open Connectors service.
  2. Create a Connector Instance:
    • In the Open Connectors dashboard, search for "DocuSign" and create a new connector instance.
    • Provide necessary credentials such as the API key, account ID, and user authentication details to establish the connection.
  3. Configure Authentication:
    • Follow the prompts to authenticate the DocuSign account using OAuth2. This ensures secure communication between SAP BTP and DocuSign.

Integrating with SAP Sales Cloud V2: Create a Custom Integration Flow

    • In SAP BTP Integration Suite, create a new integration flow to connect SAP Sales Cloud V2 with DocuSign.
    • Use the Open Connectors adapter to integrate the DocuSign connector instance you previously set up.

Define the Integration Logic:

    • Map the fields between SAP Sales Cloud V2 and DocuSign. For instance, map customer details, document templates, and signature fields.
    • Configure triggers for the integration, such as automatically sending a document for signature when a sales order reaches a certain status.

Deploying the Integration :Deploy the Integration Flow

    • Once testing is successful, deploy the integration flow in the SAP BTP Integration Suite.
    • Monitor the flow to ensure smooth operation and handle any exceptions that may occur.

5.Once the document is signed and the 'Finish' button is clicked, the signed document will be returned to the Sales Quote
