Coastal Photography Competition 2022 (running from Aug 19-Sept 19) with SAP Community!

Lovers of photography and coastal views – share your best photographs please!

Happy World Photography Day! Annually, on August 19, is World Photography Day which is a
celebration of photographic history - and a great excuse to share photos with the world. Two years ago, even, some of you have received a random day surprise that same day! Lots of pictures are getting shared in SAP Community and thinking of the variety of nice photos uploaded so far, I want to challenge you now and start this little photography competition.

Together with my colleagues, I was thinking of a suitable category for this challenge which we all would enjoy looking at during this time of the year.
Including many other countries, it’s currently summer here in Europe. Some being on vacation and others enjoying the warm temperatures at home.

My favorite place is the coast. I like the view and if possible, taking a dip in the water.

I don’t have easy access to a nice coast but when I do, I make sure I take pictures for the nice memory. Currently sitting in the (home) office like many of us here, wouldn’t it be refreshing to see some coastal pictures taken by the community?

Now, here’s how you can participate this photography competition:

• Sign into your SAP Community account. If you don’t have an account in SAP Community
  Groups, you will need to create an account on groups.community.sap.com.
• Join the Coffee Corner Group as a member, so you can participate in the discussion 
• Share your one best coastal photograph as a comment below. If you add multiple photographs, only the first one posted will count for the competition. If you haven’t visited or don’t live near a coastal region, we are happy to accept a lake or river photo. Feel free to also tell us where that photo was taken, when you took it, and why you visited the place. 
  For the competition we’ll consider photographs only shared until September 19, 12:00 pm CEST as a comment to this thread. 
  
• The photograph which received the most kudos during the competition entry period wins the competition. 
  
• The winner will be announced in another blog post after the competition entry period. 

What’s in it for you participating in the challenge?
The winner of our Coastal Photography Contest 2022 will win an SAP Merchandise Store voucher worth 100€.

How can you win?
Give kudos to the photographs you like the most until September 19, 12:00 pm CEST (there is no
limit on giving kudos, but once you gave kudos to a photograph, you can’t add another kudos
to the same).

I also loved reading through the ‘My favorite place’ – thread, getting inspiration for future travel journeys and learning from community members where their favorite place is. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I can recommend it. I noticed that there were many pictures of nature and I’m looking forward to more favorite places shared. Condition to acceptance

1. Challenge definition
The Coastal Photography Competition 2022 with SAP Community is an online competition taking place in SAP Community (groups.community.sap.com) where the announcement of the competition
is being published as a discussion thread in SAP Community Groups. Valid submissions need to be posted as a comment as described in this announcement where every interested individual SAP Community member can participate in submitting one (1) coastal photo. Participation in the competition is subject to these Terms and Conditions. The winners of this competition will be receiving an SAP Merchandise voucher worth 100€ (EUR).
The promoters of this challenge is the SAP Community team.

2. Prize draw entry period details
Eligible individuals may participate in the Coastal Photography Competition 2022 with SAP Community from August 19, 2022 to September 19, 2022 at 12:00 PM Central European Time.

3. Eligibility Criteria
Entrants must (i) be eighteen (18) years or older; (ii) be a registered and active member of the SAP Community (community.sap.com) (iii) you are prohibited from participating in this contest if you are located in a country embargoed by the United States or if you are on the U.S. treasury department’s list of specially designated nationals. (iv) SAP reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time. The Challenge is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited. Participants in the contest agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor. Employees of SAP Community Team and its family members  (parent, children, siblings, regardless of where they reside) and any person in any way affiliated with or related to government entities, government officials or any other person or entity in the public sector are ineligible.

Your photograph must not: (a) violate any third party rights, including, but not limited to, copyrights, trademark rights, or rights of privacy and publicity; (b) depict any risky or offensive behavior or contain images that are obscene, defamatory, profane, offensive, lewd, pornographic, false,
misleading, deceptive, or otherwise inconsistent with Twitter’s editorial standards; (c) prominently feature any trademarks or logos; or (d) have been entered in any other contest or have been
published or distributed in any other media. Sponsor reserves the right to reject any photograph for any reason. By submitting a photograph, you represent and warrant that: (a) the photograph is an original work created solely by you; (b) you own all rights to the photograph; and (c) the Entry
complies with all requirements of these Official Rules.

4. Competition Rules – submission requirements
Photos submitted must:

• be uploaded during the contest entry period (see above)
• not violate any copyrights (see 3. Eligibility Criteria)
• be only submitted once (only one entry per person is allowed). If multiple submissions occur, the first one (comment with photo) to this discussion thread will be considered for the
competition.

5. Selection and Notification of Winner
One can win this contest by receiving the most kudos on its submission during the contest entry period. The winner will be featured and mentioned in one future blog post. The winner will also be notified via SAP Community Groups Direct Message.

6. Prize and Corresponding Approximate Retail value (ARV)
One (1) 100EUR voucher for the SAP Merchandise Store. Prize is not redeemable for cash or transferable; prize may not be sold or transferred for commercial use. No substitution allowed except that Promoter may, at its sole discretion, substitute a prize with another of equal or greater value. All taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner. Number of winners is subject to prize
availability.

7. Consent and Release
This Prize Draw shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of Germany without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Prize Draw, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. Any claims, judgments and/or awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs associated with entering this prize draw. Participant hereby waives any rights or claims to legal fees, indirect, special, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages of participant, whether foreseeable or not and whether based on negligence or otherwise.

8. Personal information and privacy
By participating in the competition, participant(s) consent(s) to the collection, use and disclosure of
participant’s personal information. For the name of the winner, an announcement will be published in the SAP Community Group ‘Coffee Corner’.

9. Condition to acceptance
This offer is extended to you under the condition that your acceptance does not violate the any applicable laws or policies within your organization. If you are unsure that your acceptance will violate any such laws or policies, we strongly advise you to seek advice from your ethics or
compliance officials. For organizations that are unable to accept all or a portion of this
complimentary offer and would like to pay for their own expenses, upon request, SAP will provide a reasonable market value and invoice or another suitable payment process.

At the start of the pandemic I started walking, a lot. Wife said if I was going to do that I needed to get up early and be back to help with the kids. So I started waking up at 5am and walking 10 mi. Burned through 1000's of podcasts. The past 3 summers we have spent a month at my family's beach house in South Bethany, DE. I have literally 100's of photos from my excursions to choose from

The below photograph is from a beach in Pondicherry, The paradise beach. 

I was overwhelmed to see a small boy enjoying the waters alone without any fear , the enchantments for the boy was only the serene beauty and the water touching his feet.

While everyone else in the beach was busy with playing or taking photos including me or taking selfies. This boy was just enjoying the moment that he is in , no worries about parents gadgets pics . True sense of peace and happiness. 

A lesson that i too learnt from the buy and captured it for myself to remind me how to live in the moment.

I know that I am not ineligible to participate in this challenge, but I love the theme and I want to share with you my two fav pics.

Barcelona - I love the spanish culture and this city. For me, the heart-shaped balon makes this picture special. It makes no sense that there is a balon on the beach in the evening, but somehow it fits perfectly with all the other colours. 

Irland - went to this awesome country with my cousine, auntie and mom. BTW I didn´t find a pot of gold 😄 but we really enjoyed the great nature!

The scarlet sunset and the solitary traveller
This was taken in a small sea town in West Bengal , India. It was the time of twilight moving slowly to evening against the backdrop of a beautiful dusk. I was taking photos of the sea , the beautiful sky, the people and all of a sudden I turned towards my right and I saw this beautiful stretch of coast all to myself. Not a single soul except the only one lady who was standing there looking at the vast expanse of the sea. It felt so surreal.
