Hi all,
My problem is which module is good ,i could not select a particular module.
I was worked as sap abap developer for 1year 6 months in one company
and worked for 2 years and 4 months in Qlikview BI Development and Testing and requirement gathering.
in this project back end is SAP R/3. I analyzed the requirement and prepared the logic for which tables need to use what logic we have to apply for the report.
Data analysis for below reports .
SD Module :
Sales by Product,
Sales by customer
margin by product
Debtors analysis
debtors collection
sales orders OTIF
MM Module :
Purchase Analysis
Procurement cycle
Inventory
inventor ageing
Stock movement
Few of the reports in PP and FI module also
For above reports we used SAP R/3 Tables and analyzed using sap.
but my Problem is now which module i have to choose my carrier.
1) I have good knowledge in Core ABAP.
2) I have good knowledge in Qlikview.
3) I learned SAP BI
4) I learned SAP BOBJ.
I have 3.5 years of experience only. So want to choose best carrier in the market So please advise me which module should i take my carrier.
Is Qlikview is good ? or
SAP BI BO is good?
Thanks & Regards
Surender

Hi Surender,
Is Qlikview is good ? or
SAP BI BO is good?
I came through this question previously when my friend was given an opportunity to work on Qlikview. What I felt is 'Qlikview is small tool for very good analyzing where as BO is large enterprise reporting tool. BO is acquired by SAP and widely used, hence more opportunities compared to Qlikview. Since you want a stable career, BO is my choice.'

You have worked on different tools, so you must be knowing which interests you most. All the mentioned modules (ABAP, BI, BO) are good in market. Combination of skills among them is always an advantage. So, choose depending on your interest and opportunities.
Is SAP BI BO is required to learn for HANA or SAP ABAP is enough ?
BI or BO knowledge is not necessary but people having experience in Bi are given advantage. If you would like to continue on ABAP, there are opportunities to work on 'ABAP for SAP HANA'. Hi Surender.
Actually choose one you like. Any popular module like FI, SD, MM, BI is a good choice.
If you already has some experience with BI better will be to continue with this module in order to spend no time to learn other module.

Hello Surender,
As reading the details you have given here, You have mostly worked on Programming. So i would suggest you to go on Technical line (Either ABAP, BI or BOBJ).
I personally would say to take BI/BOBJ, as Analytics will be a key factor in Organizational decision making.
So You will be learning a lot and you will have more opportunities to contribute.
Moreover if you have good Analytical skills, You have a good potential to be a Business Analyst.
Learn the Business and Improve the place you work for..!!!
All the best.

Thanks Vishnu for your valuable suggestion.
Yes i will go for BI BO only.
one small problem in choosing my carrier that is
Compare to BO Qlikview is very user friendly and very fast in memory tool.
So is Qlikview tool is good for long carrier or not?
Thanks

Well Surender,
To be honest with you, I am not much verse with QlikView. so here i am of no help here.
What i can suggest is, Don't choose your module or technology with the current market demand. We don't know when the market demand will go off.
So choose your career with a technology which you feel you are comfortable to work with. When you feel you comfortable to work, you bound to explore a lot in that technology which will open a lot of opportunities to you.
After all Mastering in a technology which we like is easy...!!!
A Special Note:
Don't forget we are in a knowledge based industry.. Which means Learning Never Stops..!!
So we need to update ourselves all the time.
With Regards,
Vishnu...

If you are Abap developer why don't you try to get in SAP HANA Module. I hear any Abap have more oportunity for a job.

Hi Reynaldo ,
I m interested to learn SAP HANA. But some of them told me for learning SAP HANA
SAP BI BO knowledge compulsory.
1) Is SAP BI BO is required to learn for HANA or SAP ABAP is enough ?
2) where can i find the HANA Development document.can you share some material for HANA.
Thanks & Regards
Surender
