Which Module is better for me?

Hi All,

I am a commerce graduate with post graduation in Finance and would like to start my career in SAP by any cost. However, confused between two modules FICO & BI.

Now the question is why? So, here is the point. I have six years of industry experience. I started my career from BPO industry. 1.5 yrs in back office profile its more or less a data entry role. Now, I am working as a management reporting person from last 4.5 yrs where I maintain and publish dashboards related to process performance, seat utilization/capacity, financial report pertaining to cost analysis, variance analysis, call forecast & schedules based on the same etc. However, all my work is excel based with limited VBA.

I am ready to fund my learning & certification. Will it be helpful to get a job in SAP?

Do let know if anyone need any further information to provide me the suggestion.

I do appreciate all the response in advance.

I disagree with Bhanu a little bit. I say go with your strengths. While you are using a different toolset, the processes you are implementing are more closely related to Business Intelligence than FICO. When you go to interview (after you get certified) you'll be able to talk about how you did such and such the old way but now you know how to do it with SAP tools and can't wait to get a chance to help out the interviewers company with that problem.

You may indeed need some ABAP, but research the SAP BI and the Business Object toolsets to see which most closely match what you're currently doing.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Hi Vishal Sarma,

As per my knowledge so far , Already you have financial knowledge so better to go for FICO.if you want to learn SAP BI  it is also good but we need ABAP skills bcoz we use ABAP code in SAP BI.Now a days only sap bi is not sufficent.Atleast we have SAP BI +SAP BO (OR) SAP BI +SAP ABAP.

I hope it helps you.
