Irrespective of module, if you want to switch over to functional side, unless you have some domain experience in the related field, it will be very difficult to sustain there.

Firstly, why do you want to shift from ABAP?

Secondly, why the three 3 Modules that you mentioned?

Thirdly, have you any domain experience in the modules mentioned?

And what if you get bored of the functional modules?

Secondly, theses three module i find them interesting

Thirdly i have little experience in SAP MM.

If you think ABAP is not your cup of tea and you are interested in MM, then probably you should go for it. There's no point doing something you are not happy with.

As far as market demand is concerned, there's hardly to choose from the three.

There's no set rules that only certain Functional Consultants can become PMs. Anybody with a good knowledge of the SAP system and ins and outs of Business can become PMs. As a matter of fact, who says ABAPers cant be TLs?

You can always be a PM or a Technical Lead as an ABAPer.

Hi Jaivardhan,

Its always to have good knowledge on the product. Since you worked on SD and MM reports try to understand the fundamentals of functional modules. This will help you to drive any project effectively.

Also, There is no harden rule that you have to learn A specific module. Its all depends on individual interest. But, before getting into any functional module first try to understand the fundamental of business in that area. For E.g. If you are learning FI - you should know what is G/L accounts, principles of accounts, what is P&L, what is AR & AP. This will help you more.

Now, You final goal is to become PM, so try to take up some managerial activities in your current project like, mini projects, enhancements, talking with clients, managing team, preparing some RFP's and other resource management activities.

Then try to do PMP certifications.

I am sure if you are good at basics you can be good at higher level.

All the Best !!

Regards, Sai Krishna.
