Thank you for your prompt guidance Hrusikesh

Hi Everyone,

After reading multiple informative post on SCN; i've joind the community & being an amateur in SAP, I'm looking forward for expert opinions from SAP Professionals.

I've joined a company last year as a G/L accountant; which is using SAP. Gradually my interest has developed & I want to dig more in to SAP FI CO ... .

I've downloaded so much material from internet (configuration, test papers etc.)  & now i'm sooooo confused as WHERE TO START ???

I need a road map  ... please help

Thank You

Hi Mirza,

  • Start from where...... you exactly are....  Start from your company...

  • Get into End User Job in SAP FICO...first......Understand FICO from SAP point of view as an End User...

  • After some time when get used to SAP system.. Try to understand the configuration....done behind it....

  • Finally go for Consulting field (if it seems interesting to you)

  • SAP FICO is very demanding & vast... Take good time to understand from every angle.....

Remember ....Even if you don't want to get into consulting field in latter stage SAP FICO working knowledge will always give you an edge & add value to your current profile...

All the best!!!!!

Regards,

Veeram

Mirza,

SAP FI/CO is 2 different modules within FICO

first learn SAP FInance ( FI)

then learn Controlling ( CO).

self reading and scn forum is ok but you need formal trainings.

Thanks

Hrusikesh,

I'm a end user of SAP FI for more than a year & i'm very much familiar with the UI (screens & there functionality).

You are very right that i have to go for FI first & CO afterwards; one of my friend is a FI CO Consultant & he have shared multiple video lectures with me related to the two modules.

Please could you further elaborate your suggestion of FORMAL TRAINING !!!

Thank you

Mirza

Mirza,

Formal trainings means getting trained under a experiences FICO trainer orr through SAP Training Center.

Thanks

See you can learn anything by many way, we usually prefer two way..

1. Self learning.

As you have both things, as you have written you have some friend who have shared some material so you can do self study and whenever you got some doubt, you can take help of your friend.

2. By getting training/help from someone.

Get the training from some institute. In this you have to include 1st point also.

Chandra,

Initially, I want to stick with Self Learning & considering this plz advice; how can i utilize the following;

1. System availability as a FI end user

2. Multiple video lectures on several topics related to FI CO

3. Large amount of downloaded material on FI CO configuration; study material etc.

4. A friend who is working as a FI CO consultant in a company; ready to help

Where to start ... !!!

Ask your Friend to short list the martial and arranged in the proper manner.. beginner to expert index..

Start with first topic,,read it, explore on Google,Come to system do practices, got some doubt ask to your friend, all clear ??, still doubt? post on SCN.. then pick next topic .. ......
