I have background as IT technician and support and want to learn SAP in order to apply for online jobs. I would be more than happy to get some advice from the SAP community regarding this topic.

Hi - I would start with the free learning courses at learning.sap.com and open.sap.com

Depending on your background, to me it would show a lot that you invested time in these free resources.
