When consultants are creating templates for uploading data into SAP using LSMW or other tools, it is necessary to know the table structure and field types. Functional consultants also needs to create FS (Functional Specifications) for customizing existing functionality, for that he needs to know how the tables and relationships are maintained, which will help to explain how to get the data from which table.

Tables make up the database. A database is necessary to any enterprise solution, it is where all the data is stored. In the case of MM it is where all details of you Purchase Orders (Header, Items, etc) are stored.

-is the table necessary for the consultant?

Any consultant will be better off knowing their domain's tables.

Hi Akshay,

Tables are very important for SAP consultants for any module. Hope that you might be knowing that all the data (config/master/transaction) get stored in tables .With the help of tables data can be shown in the report or any sort of print(PO/Challan/invoice).

While giving requirement to Abap consultant we must know the data from which tables its flowing.
