Hi,

the client is an organizational and legal entity into SAP system.

The master data into a client is only visible within the client.

Is possible to have multiple clients in a SAP system.

I hope that my answer could help you.

Regards

Ivan

Hi Mani,

What is a Client?

  • is a unit of SAP suystem that is technically, organizationally and commercially self contained.
  • has own sets of user master data, application data, and customizing based on table key ranges.

All user must log on to a specific client with in SAP system. Application data(master and transaction) belongs only to a specific client.

How to protect a Client?

SAP authorization.
This concept enables the parent company to access all subsidiaries for report purposes, while subsidiary-specific data is protected against access from other subsidiaries through company code definition.

Hope this helps.

Rajkumar
