Hi all,
I have 4 years of experience in SAP-ABAP. Now I want to enhance my skills in ABAP like either I want to go for Webdynpro ABAP or SAP UI5. But I am very confused. Please help me to choose from these two technologies so that I can change my current job and can make a good career as per Indian market. Please tell me about the future of these two technologies and how much time generally it will take to learn them and which has more chances to get a good job in Indian market.
Regards

Hi Sammer,
Nobody has a crystal ball and could tell you wich one is "better".
I can tell you some facts, SAPUI5 is newer. SAP Fiori (with at the end is powered by SAPUI5) is the new "standard" of all the SAP/4 HANA product. But still is really NEW and will pass some time to reach the mayority of SAP clients.
SAPUI5 DO NOT USE ABAP, is either xml or JavaScript (most common).
ABAP will not disappear SAP Fiori UX (User Experience) is a new paradigm with is to eliminate the "transaction" concept and focus in a specific task with minimalist design, easy to understand and avoiding all the complex screen and parts of transactions. But there'll still be programs that are complex and more related to the "business" and for those you will use ABAP.
Webdynpro for ABAP on the other hand works on R/3, SAP Portal, directly via url, Business Client, etc.
I recommend you to check some of the courses in http://scn.sap.com/
There are free and can give you a preview so you can later choose, You could also register in HCP and check and try SAP Fiori devoloping in the cloud with a free user trial.
My advice... why choose one ? In your shoes I'll invest now more in webdynpro and still check and learn SAP Fiori.

Hi Sammer,
SAP has released more products which can be used along with SAPUI5 like (SAP/4 HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP Netweaver Gatway, etc.,) This shows clearly that SAPUI5 is dominating technology. It support cross-platform (Desktop & Mobile) and Interactive user experience like Drag and Drop also.So my concept it is important ad one of the dominating technology in market. Some disadvantage is that the code is like javascript, xml,JSON and HTML not like ABAP.
Ui5 You can learn from here-SAPUI5 SDK - Demo Kit
