Folks

I am a certified SAP Consultant and currently working as a consultant in implementation projects. I have got a offer from one of the Govt organization. But the Job is a kind of End user profile. I am stuck up with a taught that whether such a step back in my career is worth as I know how difficult was it to get a break into consulting. Looking at benefits and job security, the job seems to be lifetime secure .

Can someone suggest me as to wat step I should take and decide about the move.

I am 28 years old with around 7 years of total exp, with 3 years consulting exp.

Looking for suggestions..

Murad

Shaikh,

It does not have to be necessarily seen as a backward step. Your personal aspiration and situation should dictate whether you want to take that role or move. From my standpoint, you have plenty of time to go back to consulting if you ever wanted to. The fact that this is public sector, may allow you to expand and learn different areas. Plus, as is the norm these days with public sector organizations, it is easy to find acceptance to attend SAP trainings and events.

Good luck!

Hi Murad,

Govt sector has the job security as other benefits. Also Govt. job offers to take long leave in case

you wish to move to private sector. That way i suggest, you take the Govt. job now.
