Hi Raghava,
not at all! UI5 is HTML5 (HTML-CSS-Javascript) and you can easily learn them.
I'm mainly an ABAPer too (almost 12 years under the belt) but I do not found too difficult to learn it (at least getting the ropes).
I wrote a series of 3 blogs to share some hints if you want to give a read (marketing! ) where you can find how I approached UI5 as ABAPer and the main and nasty issues i found (and how i solved them)

Only "helpful answer"? What would be the "correct answer" then? I'm confused what more could one possibly expect when the correct answer is simple "no".
