These are everyday business terms and not unique to SAP. Please consider reading this book that should cover the business processes: https://www.amazon.com/Understanding-SAP-ERP-Integration-Certification/dp/194177301X

Welcome to the SAP world !
A functional Consultant communicates with technical consultant via Functional specification which contains the developments to be done.
If you are not able to understand something, please do not hesitate to ask about the functionality this will give you more clarity about the processes as well but for that, functional has to be willing to spend much time on explaining the functionality.
Nowadays, I am facing more issues from the functional side like
Sales order, Purchase order, Invoice, Document..
Give some time analyze the custom issues and flows. Over the period you will feel confident.
All the very best.
Regards
Kamlesh
