Dear Guru's,

Currently, I am working in SAP - SD module user end transaction (creation of sales order and updated pricing procedure, creation of delivery with multiple batches, creation of billing) since 1 year

and my profile is going to switch over to ABAP.  Is this best for my career .

I have lot of confusion..

Please guide me !!!!

Regards,

Ganapathi Raman P

Hi Ganapathi,

ABAP is purely technical work and SD is functional work. If you are going to work in both space, then it is good scope and future.

You need to work hard to understand the various business concepts in SD to become Techno Functional Consultant.

Ganapathi,

What is your goal in 5 to 10 years? Every action should be selected from the goal pov.

If you want to become an SD analyst, then -

One year of SD end user is too short! I would have stayed in SD and not go to ABAP.

What do you mean by update pricing procedure? In sales order VA01, VA02, go to Tab Conditions and click on button Update?

Dear Ganapathi,

If you are working as a SD Consultant then its better to be as a SD Consultant rather than switching to ABAP.

But if you are working as a SD End User and if you are provided with an opportunity to work on ABAP by your company then its better to work on ABAP for 2 or 3 years and slowly learn SD Configurations and become SD Consultant and in this process you would have learnt 2 modules and thus Techno Functional.

Shaik
