Hi,

I have an experience of 3.5 yrs in IT. I am into C/C++/Perl development on Unix and RTOS ,and integeration, testing and delivery.

I am planning for a switch into SAP-ABAP and planning to take "course + certification" from SIEMENS (BANGALORE), Please comment on my following queries:

1. I am planning of quitting my current Job to take up the course, so how good is the market and job-prospects for SAP-ABAP, (not only India, but Gulf and Malaysia, Singapore) ?

2. My current CTC is about INR 4,50,000+ p.a, what could be the average pay as SAP-ABAP developer/consultant ?

3. Is the SIEMENS-Bangalore and the staff there good for the course, or do you have any suggestion ?

Thanks,

Syed

Hello,

note there is a "sap trial" called a minisap or similar what you can install on your home computer and start with ABAP and connected technologies immediately.

Hi Syed, for what i have seen C/C++ and unix, RTO since your in embedded you might not getting good salaries.............

if with C/C++ unix, you learn PL/SQL and switch to Telecom billing side, Mobile side, your salares would be in range of 7-12 lakhs per annum, do a serious search on it......................

if u want to start over abap again, just to get good slary and can leave india asap,,,,,,,,,,,, you should learn two things

1. there is rumours that ABAP is going to be overtaken by Java, so you need to be expert in java again.......

2. most of the IT jobs are going to move to India............if u earn 12laksh per annum in india itself,...the why go malaysia singpaore........think again

its my personal view and you do your own research again
