Dear All,,

I am a BE Mechanical Graduate with 1 year experience in Service Industry with bit knowledge in sale. I want to stream line my career by SAP module related to my work experience. After consulting many local institutes I have got suggestions to go with Material Management. I want my experience to be considered and want work in Mechanical Sectors. Kindly suggest me on the following points:

1. What is in general Job prospects by 2011 after i get trained up in SAP.

2. A institute boasts of SAP CERTIFICATION from LEARN SAP U.S a institute from U.S.A with course fees of 80k for a duration of 3 months. Is this worth????

3. SAP in ABAP, BI, BO has more demands than MM. By Taking up ABAP, BI, BO will i have to leave my experience?? Will the experience be counted if i go with ABAP???

Kindly do the needful by answering my queries.

Waiting for a mutual reply at the earliest.

Regards

Naveen

Dear Naveen,

As you stated your basic qualification is Mechanical engineer i would also suggest you to go for MM and PP module. Both these modules are closely associated with manufacturing and your experience would be counted.

ABAP,BO,BI all these modules do required software programing knowledge and generally preffered by people with IT background.

If you do your SAP course from reputed and authorised SAP institute then you can appear for certification.

With the right certification in your hand you can get better job.

As you mentioned you have touched Sales so if you have some good domain knowledge of sales fiend then SAP SD module is also an option ahead you.

I would suggest research this forum for simillar threads and wait for more experts to comment on your thread.

Pushkar Patil.

P.S. : I am a Mechanical Engineer as well...
