If it is there as it is here, you will find it very hard to break in.  Jobs are awarded based on document-able experience.  You obviously have none.

If I were in your shoes, here is one option that I might try.

  • Get what basic training in ABAP as you can.  SAP Learning HUB020 appears to have good potential for this.
  • Get a job in IT in a company that has SAP with an SAP ABAP team.
  • Volunteer to do spare time ABAP works for the team.  If they use your code, that time becomes document-able.

At that time, you start to build up experience in ABAP.  You also build up creditability with your ABAP team.

HTH,

Neal

I hope it works out for you.  I had to get lucky to break in.  That was 17 years ago.  I think the environment was much easier back then.  There have been several economic down sizing's since then.  Lots of people who have experience and might want to get back in.  All of the same, if you are first a world class programmer, and second have fate on your side, you can do it by determination!

Good Luck!
