Starting career in SAP BI

Hello everyone,

I am currently into DB2 application development. So I have a database knowledge.

I learnt SAP BW 2years back and now planning change my career move to SAP BI.

Can anyone suggest me if its advantageous to move my career to SAP BI?

How would life be in SAP BI

Hi Madhavi,

It is good to learn SAP as per the current market.Now almost each and every company implementing SAP.

BI is very good Reportig tool as well as data staing and also for all new dimentional Products BI will act as a Source.

Recently SAP purchased Business Object also.As you know BO is also reporting tool.But for BO also we can use BI as a source.

Main Imp of BI :

Flexible to Impliment

Query desigining is simple.

Reports will directky display in Excel itself.So that user can analyse the reports.

Above are sample eaxmples.

So my suggestion do not hegitate to learn BI.Very Good desicion.

glad to know that you have interest in SAP BI

SAP Bi Is a good module where you find always demand as all the companies who are currently using reaping profits

and all other companies who are not using .They will find the use of SAP BI in future

because these modules holds a data not only the recent years but also having the capability of extracting Historical data

and hence for taking business decision company definitely feel necessary of using it. Indirectly its generating employment too

glad to know that u are also having database knowledge that acts as an value advantage for learning and understanding easily

In fact SAP also doing several research in improving more and more

recently they have launched HANA

Hi Madhavi,

My name is Gaddam and I am planning to start a career in SAP BI. I have seen your query posted on SAP career in this forum in the 2009. I hope now you are in SAP career having flourishing prospects, as new aspirant I would like to ask you the same question and take your as well as many others inputs before stepping in SAP. Basically I have got nearly 7 years of experience in ITES support industry and working as a support Manager. Because excessive night shifts these days I am thinking of changing the line at the same time make use of my experience. Could you please help me finding the right answers for below questions..

Career prospects in SAP BI..?

How are the growth opportunities...starting role...and how the career will progress..?

Is there any pre-requisite certification before stepping in SAP..?

What is SAP CRM will it be of any help for me..?

Greetings ! Welkom to the world of SAP . As per your comments SAP is a good choice for career switch . Before going ahead as per the above comments you are from ITES domain , then what are all the factors which made you to decide on SAP BI . (the querry you asked to madhavi above she was from business reporting domain ,knows database as well and she decided to move to BI) but your case is different kindly decide on the career nevertheless SAP is a ocean and ofcourse a good choice too . think about the relevant domain which you are already working and accordingly choose in SAP as well .
